Cay Lang's Photographing God: A quest

Photographing God is a visual and verbal inquiry into the nature of the divine. It combines photographic images and text distilled from interviews with random people and recordings of my experiences as the quest unfolds. The final form of the piece will include a traveling art installation and book.

I go out with my camera with the intention of looking for God. If I run into a stranger on the street I say “Hi, I'm here to photograph God. Have you seen him (or her)?”If the person responds with something like, “Right, lady, I bet if you go three blocks that way, you'll find him,” then I take him at his word and go see what the adventure offers next.
